After I managed to escape Ronda yesterday evening on a very busy main road, today I keep to the quiet side roads. For the morning this means old tarmac, concrete and finest gravel. Not much going on here aside from a few cars and a herd of sheep.

I take my lunch break on the shore of the Embalce del Conde de Guadalahorce, a series of almost empty reservoir lakes. The Carminito del Rey, a well know hiking trek, also starts here.

The afternoon takes me along more quiet roads to Antequera, where the Alcazaba fortress thrones high above the town.

This is about half time and half the distance of my trip and I continue on towards Granada.
