The mountains of the Sierra de las Nieves await and my next goal is Ronda, the city on the cliff. Until then I have 60 km to go on smooth gravel and a quiet mountain road, with my first official two mountain passes, one of which at exactly 1000 m elevation. The mountains around are beautiful, the white villages picturesque. What more could one want?

Ronda is impressive, touristy, beautiful. It also has the worst way of handling cars that I’ve seen in any Spanish city so far. No space for bicycles and not much reserved for pedestrians, so cars clog up most of the one-way streets of the old town, waiting for someone on a crosswalk. Anyway, nice palaces but to much bustle and hustle for my taste. Though I did find a quiet spot out of the way for a snack.
