I continue up the Rhône most of the day, sometimes following the river, sometimes following an official cycling path up the mountain’s side. The river gets noticeably smaller and I can enjoy a quick dip in the icy water after lunch.

After about 75 km I reach Ulrichen and turn away from the Rhône to head up the Nufenenpass. 13 km with 1100 meters ascent sound hard and the road does not disappoint.

At the top I briefly enjoy the view onto the Griesgletscher, before heading down into Ticino. Today’s tally is 111 km with 3000 m ascent.
