Armello is a turn-based strategy board game, a type of game I don’t usually play. However, this time the design appealed to me so much, that I decided to try it (years back). I’d say it was worth it for me, not for the gameplay, but the beautiful illustrated world.

The intro and cut scenes are beautifully illustrated.

The characters are introduced in short animations and as you can see from the screenshots.

The hexagon-tile game board features characters, buildings and landscape in 3D. The textures are nicely illustrated. However, the 3D elements aren’t the visually most stunning parts of the game.
