One last time back to France to go over the Col(l) d’Ares. A long, not very steep, uphill, quick downhill and tiny mountain road back over the border to Catalonia.

The sun is beating down hard today until late in the afternoon. Most of the uphill is through the woods, though.

From France down to the coast goes the worst “downhill” road I’ve ever ridden. Five minutes of going down then five going up again … seemingly forever.

I’m accordingly exhausted at the end of the day as I find that the campsite that I’ve aimed for doesn’t exist.

Soon enough I find a good spot in the wild, though and sleep on a hillside with the wind howling around me. It’s a full moon night and the hunters in the valley below seem to like it.
