After breakfast I start my first hike along the coast through Punta Brava to San Vincente. The coastal cliffs are steep and more than once I need to descend into a deep gorge.
I pass by Loro park, which, according to the omnipresent adverts, is “el must”. Perhaps tomorrow…
Coastal path southwards
From San Vincente I hike up small roads and hiking paths until just below the cloud cover. There’s a paraglider starting point here at La Corona and a great view on the towns below.

I don’t go up any further as Teide is collecting all the clouds today and the wind chill lets temperatures drop below 10° C already. Instead I continue down back towards Puerto de la Cruz through the villages, with a brief stop at the Montaña los Frailes, a small hill standing prominently alone in the valley.
After 26 km and 1200 meters ascent I end my tour at the beach.
