I ride down to Subbiano and start following the Arno rover upstream. The road is partially normal busy roads, but mostly quiet gravel paths. In Stia, just before the main climb of the day, I take an ice cream break.

I then ride up a beautiful even road and down through Londa and into the valley of the Sieve river. This I follow upstream again, until I find a good spot for a break. As I sit on the bank of the river, dark clouds gather in the north, but a quick look at the weather radar tells me that the thunderstorm will largely pass me by.

I continue onwards, and between Borgo San Lorenzo and Barberino it actually rains a few drops, but not enough for me to get out the rain jacket. The wind is very strong, though, and, of course, it’s a headwind.
From Barberino I ride up the next mountain, as the sun starts coming through again. It’s cooler, but the road is very steep as it winds uphill. Just before the top, I turn off and find a campspot with a view.
