I wake up to find that my t-shirt hanging on my bike has been destroyed over night by something that apparently like to eat sweaty wool.

Today I skip any further big cities and ride through the mountains north of Perguia. The sky is hazy this morning but that clears up soon enough, so it dows get hot. I pass through the towns of Gubbio and Pietralunga and take my lunch break at the next mountain pass.

Thw I ride down to Citta di Castello, a city consisting of a massive fortress core. It ia hot down here, one thermometer shows 45° C, probably in the sun, but that’s where I am most of the time. I fill up on water every chance I get to cool down until I reach the mountains. Here it starts raining! For all of 5 minutes. Just enough to show that it’s possible. I ride up a bit and have another break, then continue up into the mountains where it’s a bit cooler.
